Die Galerie Gebr. Lehmann eröffnet im September neue Räume. In der Eröffnungsausstellung wird die Künstlerin Lara Schnitger (*1969, lebt und arbeitet in L.A.) neue textile Skulpturen präsentieren. Zeitgleich veranstaltet die Künstlerin in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen (ifa) am 22.09.2017 die öffentliche Performance „Suffragette City“.
Die Umgebung der neuen Galerie ist geprägt von DDR-Plattenbauten der 1970er, Historismus und Barock. In unmittelbarer Nähe befinden sich die Staatlichen Kunstsammlungen und das Kunsthaus Dresden sowie zukünftig das Egidio-Marzona-Archiv.

We are looking forward to move to a new gallery space. Lara Schnitger (*1969, lives and works in L.A.) will be the first artist presented at our new rooms, in a solo exhibition of her new textile sculptures. On Sept. 22 the artist will show her performance “Suffragette City”, leading through the historic center of Dresden, supported by the Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations (ifa).
Our new environment is affected by a fascinating mixture of urban architecture styles -including East German concrete buildings from the 1970s, historism, and baroque. Nearby are the Dresden State Art Collections, the Kunsthaus Dresden, and – in the future – there will be the Egidio Marzona Archive.
